Greg Norman and his Design team met with Mediterráneo Hispa Group, the developers of 3 Molinos Resort, on Monday 16th January to finalise plans for two Signature courses in the beautiful region of Murcia, Spain. Pena de Bejar, one of the most respected Andalucian horse studs in Spain featuring dancing horses, also treated Greg and his team to an exhibition.
"The history of golf is very rich in Spain," said Norman. "We are pleased to be working in Spain again and look forward to working with Mediterráneo Hispa Group." 3 Molinos Resort will feature a variety of villas, townhouses, penthouses and apartments. Construction of the first course and residential units is scheduled to begin in Spring 2006. "We are very excited that Greg Norman chose our project for his first course in southern Spain," said Josefina Alcaraz Marin, president of Mediterráneo Hispa Group. "His presence alone exemplifies quality and the level of excellence to be achieved at 3 Molinos Resort," she added. "We are so impressed with his company, that it is our plan to work with Greg Norman on many other new projects in the near future."
During his 25-year professional golf career, Greg Norman has become recognized as a world-class golfer by collecting a total of 90 international victories, including two British Open Championships and 20 U.S. PGA Tour wins. The same commitment and determination that made Norman the No.1 player in the world for a record 331 weeks, resulting in a World Golf Hall of Fame induction, now propels his multi-national company, Great White Shark Enterprises, to similar achievements.
"Spain is experiencing a rapid growth in new golf developments," said Jason McCoy, Senior Vice President of GNGCD. "We are pleased to be working on such a wonderful site with a development company committed to designing and constructing the project to world-class standards in harmony with the environment."
Mediterráneo Hispa Group, headquartered in Murcia, Spain, brings ten years of development experience to the project and is also involved in many other projects, including commercial, industrial, hotel and residential. In 2004, the company's president, Josefina Alcaraz Marin, was awarded Murcian Lady of the Year by the regional Murcian government as recognition for the business achievements of the group.
